What you need for your holiday to Sharm El Sheikh!

April 13, 2010 by ama57 · Leave a Comment

Sharm El Sheikh seems like the best place for you to go on your holiday, and it is a fantastic location. You are just about to get ready to leave, all the luggage is packed and you need to check, do you really have everything that you need. So the obvious checklist, something that everyone will hopefully remember is the passport, airline tickets and sun cream, please tell me your remembered sun cream!

So what do we know about Sharm El Sheikh, well a couple of clearly stated points are:

  • It is very warm and in most cases boiling hot.
  • The sun is completely inescapable at least until night time.
  • Sand, lots and lots of sand, the stuff is everywhere.
  • The Ocean is very close by; this is after all a coast line city.

So what can we do with this information? This information can be used to help us make some good decisions about what we need. Sharm El Sheikh is a very conservative country, which means although it is hot you need to be careful. We all know that it can be very hot out there, but it is important to remember that some people from Egypt take offence to flesh being shown on public, so try to save sun bathing until you get back to the hotel. Make sure you have a hat, it is one of the most simple pieces of clothing to have with you, and it can be a life saver, especially saving your head from the heat.

If you like your swimming or diving, then make sure that you sort your self out with a wet suit before you get out there, if you haven’t booked with a diving tour operator, it could be very difficult to obtain a Wet Suit. Don’t take a few pairs of High heels, ladies we all know that you like to look nice, but trainers are extremely important here, even hiking boots in some cases, there is a lot of sand, and soft roads.

Sharm El Sheikh holidays for all, this is such a popular holiday these days, now however people still seem more interested in Caribbean holidays and on the other side of Egypt, Hurghada holidays.

The top 4 things not to do in Barbados!

March 10, 2010 by ama57 · Leave a Comment

This is another article designed to make your holiday just that little more exciting, only thing is that this one is a little different, instead of telling you what you should do, it’s a description on what you shouldn’t do. Barbados is a party capital, and many people do not have any problems with taking advantage of this.

  • DRUGS, do not take or deal or bur drugs, it will be one of the biggest mistakes of your time here. If the police believe that you have hard drugs then you will be taken to a police custody locker, and even worse if you do have drugs on you, you could find yourself sitting in a prison cell for a while.
  • Try to make sure that you do not draw attention to yourself in any unnecessary manner, make sure that you do not disgruntle any of the locals as you may find yourself dealing with the police.
  • Thirdly be careful what you drink, Barbados is a party capital, and there are a number of reports about drinks being spiked, so always keep your drink with you, if you leave it unattended for a period of time don’t be cheap, get yourself a fresh one, unless of course you have left it with a friend, in which case I would also be weary.
  • Do your best to remember this one, whatever happens do not get in a mini van taxi, with a crazy Barbadian driver. These people will try anything that they possibly can to get you into their cars, even if it means blurting swear words at you. Trust me, I promise you that you will be risking your life jumping into one of these death traps, they cram these things with as many people as possible, and then speed all over the place. Even if none of this is your fault, if the police get involved you could find yourself in a bit of a sticky situation and maybe even receiving some of the blame!

At least now you have some clear ideas what to avoid on your Barbados holidays, for smoother more relaxing Caribbean holidays try St Lucia or Antigua, and for something completely different and more spa oriented try Thailand holidays!

Swine Flu could be damaging international relationships!

December 26, 2009 by ama57 · Leave a Comment

The world is still being attacked by Swine Flu. All of us thought that Swine Flu was starting to fade out, and cases had started to drop. We are now aware that Swine Flu has travelled almost the entire Globe now. It is now that people are only really starting to realise that Swine Flu is here to stay for a while to come, what they want to know is what symptoms are on their way?

Swine Flu is something that can be distinguished relatively easily from the “normal” strain of Flu. Swine Flu is described as a virus that you either definately know you have, or you haven’t got it. Flu has a way of slowly moving its way through your immune system and makes its climax after a couple of days. Swine Flu acts much quicker, making the victim feel extremely bad in a short amount of time. The Main symptoms are similar to those that you experience when you get the Flu, like; Nausea, Headaches, Runny Nose, Aches and Pains, all over the body. The biggest and most noticeable difference in these Flu’s is that the Swine Flu one is much, much worse, all of the symptoms you would normally experience are terribly exacerbated.

Tourism is once again being dealt a blow due to the Swine Flu Virus. Over the school half term, around 40 children who were going on holidays with families to Egypt were quarantined under “suspicion” of having the virus. The place these people were taken to has been slammed, the conditions were horrible. A sensor in the Airport they arrived at alerted guards to the children’s unusually high body temperatures, and they were whisked off to a hospital. This has proved that the Swine Flu virus on’t be going away quietly, and now with Premiership football players being diagnosed with the virus, it shows it’s still spreading.

Egypt holidays have received a bit of a bashing recently; Caribbean holidays ,also St Lucia holidays have proven very promising through the Swine Flu period.

Mexico holidays have in some cases halved in price, in a bid to get more tourists!

August 4, 2009 by ama57 · Leave a Comment

A holiday to Mexico this summer could be one of the best holiday choices you can make. It is pretty clear that Mexico has been getting some bad press lately. If you want a cheap holiday, then Mexico is the new place to be, with all the bad press that it has received holiday prices have been halved!!

Because of the situation that Mexico has fallen into, they have had to make some drastic changes to all of their holiday offers. One of the main problems is that they have lost massive amounts of money through tourism, which had become one of Mexico’s biggest money spinners. Caribbean holidays have also been affected by this and have lost revenue because of the epidemic across the sea.

You can even find some hotels that will offer you a 1 hundred dollar deposit at the hotel for you to spend on hotel services. So is this the best place to go for your holiday now, as far as it looks it most certainly is. Mexico and the Caribbean have both received bad press for this epidemic, but it is world-wide now, so snap up the offers while they are available.

So is there actually any risk of you catching it? Will you catch it? As cases of Swine Flu are disappearing out of the press, global panic is slowing down. The Sunday Times posted an article that says some Hoteliers in Mexico will be offering 3 years worth of holidays to anybody that catches the disease with 2 weeks of visiting them.

So go ahead and try some Mexico holidays or try something more Caribbean like Grenada holidays or Tobago holidays, prices for all of these places have dropped dramatically, your sure to find something you like. Catching Swine Flu won’t be anymore likely in any other country than ones where it has already established itself.

How healthy is the seaside?

July 8, 2009 by ama57 · Leave a Comment

Everybody thinks that the seaside is the place where you can fill your lungs with good old fashioned “sea air”, but how good is this sea air for you? Let’s start with the good points to going on a beach holiday, and why it is good for your health, then we can make a decision later…

What’s better than going to the beach and having a good swim? Swimming is supposed to be the best exercise form for you; it gets every muscle working together, and your heart will get pumping blood at a constant rate. While you are swimming you are making your heart work harder, this in turn, helps blood flow around the body and you can do all this while having fun. Sea water is very good for your skin, so if you go swimming as well you get exercise too. The high salt levels help to clear up acne and permanent scars.

The sun is also good for your skin (in small doses). Skin cancer and multiple sclerosis can both be reduced in risk with vitamin D which is supplied by sunlight.

If anything the one thing we can all agree on (as long as you have a good holiday) is that holidays are best for reducing stress levels. Heart disease and skin problems are a cause of large amounts of stress. Stress can cause health problems, and getting this under control could really help. Being able to go on luxury holidays by the beach will relieve stress will help you to clear your head as well.

Now for the bad points, let’s say you were looking at Caribbean holidays for example. There are sandy beaches everywhere, and nothing you can do to avoid them. The sun is going to be following you wherever you go. The sun although is good for you in small doses is pretty bad for in high doses, as some of you will know. You know what i mean, when we have not put enough sun tan lotion on and then skin starts to peel and we turn red, our skin just burns.

In recent studies it has been shown that the sea air isn’t actually that brilliant for you. Although the air is cleaner than that, say in a city, it contains some interesting substances. Now don’t get all paranoid it’s not serious but it is worth noting. There is a substance that is released by animals in the sea called DMS (dimethyl sulphide), this substance floats around the sea and the beaches and irritates the eyes and nose, it also has that smell you detect when your at the seaside. Another substance that was discovered was nitryl chloride which is a respiratory inhibitor but is the most of it is broken down by the sun.

So are beach holidays good for you? Stress can really make a difference in your life so if you do go on holiday this is what you want to remove, if you do then holidays like this are good for you. Nobody is going to stop going to the beach or going on holiday, the bad points aren’t bad enough yet. So if you planning weddings abroad then go for it, swim in the sea and enjoy the sun.

Caribbean Island Vacation

April 26, 2009 by ama57 · Leave a Comment

Caribbean cruises are fast becoming the most popular anywhere and it is not surprising with the exotic and beautiful islands they travel to. It should be on everyone’s list of vacations with tropical Caribbean islands, clear, clean beaches and of course a fun filled time on board the cruise liner. While short breaks are available, perhaps over a weekend period, the vast majority of passengers sail for seven days and sometimes in excess of fourteen but depends on how much you are willing to spend.

While this type of vacation has become widespread each vacationer has diverse needs so there are many different packages available as it is a time for unwinding, enjoyment and revitalization. Never worry that there will not be enough to keep you occupied as cruise liners are past masters at ensuring their travelers have everything they need.

Before making the trip, it is wise to find out more, so go to your nearest travel agent to find the right package, but you can also find comments and reviews online. As there are so many islands over quit a large area, Caribbean cruises arrange for only certain ones like Jamaica, Antigua, Bermuda or Bahamas; these islands will get a visit for each type of package that has been arranged so your job is to find one that matches the islands you want to visit.

Some cruise vacations to the Caribbean are for people that like to party with plenty of discos and non-stop entertainment and may not be the ideal place for families. While your travel agent can give more details, so can the Caribbean cruise liner website and information on the types of packages should be more in de pth.

The main difference with this type of vacation is the number of changes of clothing you take with you as there is a greater opportunity to dress for evening functions. There are more formal evenings where women will to have take evening gowns and men will need a tuxedo as you may be invited to the captains table.

A common mistake is for families to believe that cruise vacations aren’t very child friendly which couldn’t be further from the truth as most have more activities for children than they do for adults. You can even take time off for a little quality adult time as there are fully trained staff to look after them.

Other specialist Caribbean cruises are concerned with only the concerns of adults that do not have their children with them that can be a little more romantic. Nothing on board a cruise liner is to much trouble so if you are celebrating a special event or occasion, be assured that packages to entertain this are available too.

A Caribbean cruise will be your vacation of a lifetime as it has the scenery, locations, beaches and the first class service you can expect on board a cruise liner whether you are alone or with others.

Travel Distances Help

April 10, 2009 by ama57 · Leave a Comment

Maps were not made just to show the way, but also to appreciate distances and the technologies we have developed so far allow us to calculate distances in miles, air miles, nautical miles and kilometers. Travel distances are essential particularly for trip or vacation planning, thus one can appreciate the fuel costs as well as the necessity of eventual stops on the way, and therefore the afferent hotel bookings. The Internet is the richest resource for travel distances and calculators even if AAA and Rand McNally still remain the largest map companies in the United States with very good presences online too. Google and MapQuest are other major players in the online map competition.

Google calculators for travel distances dominate the web, particularly since together with this free service you are offered a whole range of options. A Google account is all you need to get access to Google Maps; after the entrance of the points of origin and destination, the distance measurement tools show all the distance specifics with utmost accuracy. Thus, besides the travel distances you can also access other links in the menu that include gas prices, great sights to visit and weather forecast.

Program analysts point out that so far Google has come up with the most user-friendly type of program for the calculation of travel distances. The positive reviews come from to the fast way of accessing the information: type the place of origin, the destination point and press enter. The screen will display not only a map and the travel distances, but directions are available too. For the moment, MapQuest is preparing the launch of yet another complex  program that would bring equal chances of popularity with the Google giant; this will most certainly trigger the introduction of other tools and functions to aid the web searcher even further.

Presently, time and space perception has changed radically and the modern means of transportation reflect this change. The travel distances between Los Angeles and New York would thus be long by car or train, but short by plane. In fact, the mobile element in the equation is not distance as such, but our perception of it in terms of time. We now tend to say: how long does it take to get to location X and not how far is location X? For car travelers, distances are then appreciated in terms of costs too: gas, food, lodging, they all have to be covered out of the personal pocket. Hence, good trip planning means calculating travel distances too.

One place you should want to calculate the distance to is Jamaica if so then be sure to visit Jamaica Travel Help..

Cheap Travel Packages By Using My Airfare Secrets

March 31, 2009 by ama57 · Leave a Comment

Prices for holiday services change awfully quick, and in this incredibly fast moving world of traveling, getting the best tips brings maximum profit for businesses and great fun for holiday makers. Cheap travel packages are a necessity given the need to attract customers, and this campaign development does not remain within the boundaries of travel agencies, as it greatly touches on the policies of hotels and complex resorts too. Sometimes the prices increase without any apparent reason, but keep in mind that the higher the demand for a certain destination, the bigger the prices will get.

Be careful about the cheap travel packages you choose since you could be paying more for the flight to the destination than for the whole stay there. Those tourists whoprefer direct routes should know that airfares vary according to some “rules” the common user remains a stranger to. Alternate routes and combinations of two flights are often cheaper than a direct one. Before taking an international flight, you may be interested in checking whether you do not pay less for getting a domestic one in the same direction, first. Some agencies take into consideration such elements when creating cheap travel packages, but others take the directest flight to the destination as a standard criterion.

Another way to keep the cheap travel packages cheap all the way is never to overlook important details like the travel food. Many restaurants in various parts of the world still take advantage of tourists without peoples realizing it, therefore, it is time tourists started focusing more on local food they could have during outings for example. This doesn’t mean that you need to spend any time in the kitchen while on vacation, but you should make some research before getting to the destination and get some tips on good local establishments that focus on regional specialties. For local specialties, costs are a lot smaller and the food is absolutely great!

Another way of getting very cheap travel packages is flexibility. Let us say that you choose to travel to South America. If you request a holiday to Rio de Janeiro, you will notice that this is more expensive than a random touristic destination in Brazil. Some less known and little crowded resorts could offer you a lot more than a very popular but rather luxurious one. Nevertheless, it all depends on what you want to visit and what money you are ready to pay for it. Plenty of other info is abundant on the Net and you can learn loads of useful things to help you maximize the money efficiency and the pleasure of the holiday.

For the best way to get truly cheap travel packages try visiting My Airfare Secrets. Good luck on your travel.
