Cast includes Jayne Mansfield, Dorothy Keller, Fabian Dean, Billy M. Greene, Martin Horsey, and Walter Gregg. (93 minutes, 1968)

The Red Badge of Courage: Yankee cadet Murphy escapes under fire and is guilt afflicted over his obvious absence of guts. Stephen Crane’s Civil Battle novel acquires both fable and personal therapy by director Huston. High quality battle scenes and some genuinely terrifying Insurgent cavalry charges highlight this research of the fine line between cowardice and courage. Cast includes Audie Murphy, Bill Mauldin, Douglas Dick, Royal Dano, John Dierkes, Arthur Hunnicutt, Tim Durant, and Andy Devine. (69 minutes, 1951)

The Nutty Professor: Sherman Klump is a goofy chemistry professor who’s grossly obese. When he meets an attractive instructing assistant, he’s inspired to try his chemistry knowledge on DNA, reorganizing himself into a super stud. Eddie is appealing and persuading as the prof, and humorous as his doppelganger. Cast includes Eddie Murphy, Jada Pinkett, James Coburn, Dave Chappelle, Larry Miller, and John Ales. (95 minutes, 1996)

Alien from L.A.: California Valley Gal falls down into a gap and finds her in the lost city of Atlantis. The movie is as stupid as it sounds. Cast includes Kathy Ireland, Thorn Matthews, William R. Moses, Don Michael Paul, Richard Haines, Linda Kerridge, and Janie du Plessis.  (87 minutes, 1987)

Alice Sugary Alice: For profit spacecraft unwittingly takes on an extraterrestrial being that wreaks ruthless chaos on the team. Spaceage terror film reverts to 1950?s style, although unfolds at a determinate pace, populates the tale with fascinating, vibrant characters, and plants its good scenes with outstanding ability. Cast includes Tom Skerritt, Sigourney Weaver, John Hurt, Ian Holm, Harry Dean Stanton, Yaphet Kotto, and Veronica Cartwright.  (117 minutes, 1979)

Slaughter in San Francisco: Prior cop Wong desires retribution on killer of his companion. Norris, in an aiding role, is the poor guy. Cast includes Don Wong, Ditch Norris, Sylvia Channing, Robert Jones, and Dan Ivan. (87 minutes, 1981)

Blaze of Noon: A hokey tale of Holden torn between his spouse (Baxter) and his real love, flying. Cast includes Anne Baxter, William Holden, Sonny Tufts, William Bendix, and Sterling Hayden.  (91 minutes, 1987)

The Buddy System: Desolate baby tries to play matchmaker between his lone mommy and a grown-up buddy, could-be novelist and tool creator Dreyfuss, however there are spiritual problems. Pleasantly played although excessively recognizable (and overlong) romantic comedy. Cast includes Richard Dreyfuss, Susan Sarandon, Nancy Allen, Jean Stapleton, Will Wheaton, Edward Fall, and Keene Curtis.  (110 minutes, 1984)

Belles on Their Toes: Here, widowed architect Loy will battle to aid (in addition to raise) her aging brood. 20th Century Fox back lot seen at its best in recollecting early 1900s America. Clifton Webb makes a concise appearance at the finale. Cast includes Myrna Loy, Jeanne Crain, Debra Paget, Jeffrey Hunter, Edward Arnold, Hoagy Carmichael, Barbara Bates, Robert Arthur, Verna Felton, and Martin Milner.  (89 minutes, 1952)

Straight Out of Brooklyn: The story of a black family?s going nowhere existence in the ghettos of Brooklyn, N.Y., and the oldest son?s plan to rob a local drug dealer to turn tings around for the family. Cast includes George T. Odom, Ann D. Sanders, Lawrence Gilliard, Jr., Barbara Sanon, Reana E. Drummond, and Mark Malone.  (91 minutes, 1991)

Slave Girls: Too glamorous Andress seized by locals and painted in arrangement for sacrifice in a scene essentially equivalent to that prompted by ex-spouse John Derek for current spouse Bo years later in Tarzan, The Ape Man. Cast includes Ursula Andress, Stacy Keach, Claudio Cassinelli, Antonio Marsina, and Franco Fantasia. (93 minutes, 1978)

So Dark the Night: Renowned Parisian investigator is set to work throughout his holy day in the French country side. An impressively made B film, something of a sleeper in its time, agonizes only for absence of appeal on the part of its (mainly obscure) cast. Cast includes Steven Geray, Micheline Cheirel, Eugene Borden, Ann Codee, Egon Brecher, and Helen Freeman. (71 minutes, 1946)

Delusion: Hard, tight thriller in reference to a yuppie pc executive-embezzler and his plight after seeing a Las Vegas show gal and her hit man boyfriend (Secor, in an eye-opening acting job) on a Death Valley freeway commit a killing. Cast includes Jim Metzler, Jennifer Rubin, Kyle Secor, Robert Costanzo, Tracey Walter, and Jerry Orbach.  (100 minutes, 1990)

Blink: Did she or didn’t she see a murderer leaving the scene of the crime? That’s the main query while gorgeous and strong willed musician Stowe, who is blind. Tale depends on viewer?s acceptance of screenwriter’s gimmick of “retroactive vision,” a post-surgery reaction. Best thing in film is Stowe; alternatively this strolls onto the too recognizable blind-female-in-danger region. Cast includes Madeleine Stowe, Aidan Quinn, Laurie Metcalf, James Remar, Peter Friedman, Bruce A. young, Matt Roth, and Paul Dillon.  (105 minutes, 1994)
