Caribe Cove Resort: There’s More to Orlando than Meets the Eye

April 25, 2009 by ama57 · Leave a Comment

Although probably the theme park capital of the world, a vacation in Orlando, Florida does not mean these are the only attractions to keep visitors amused. The city of Orlando provides a visitor with a multitude of sights, sounds, entertainment, and food, and one good place to find that is on International Drive, where, contrary to its name, you should park your car and wander around on foot. Everything a visitor could possibly want is here and the reason why people return year after year.

A visit must be made to the Central Florida Zoological Park in Sanford which has been opened since 1975. Any animal lover would be in awe at their collect of over four hundred animals. It is actually a privately owned charitable group dedicated to the protection of exotic animals plus species that are native to Florida but also offers informative and child-friendly classes and events.

Another great place to visit about twenty minutes drive from Orlando Airport is The Orlando Science Center, originating back to 1955; it is a huge complex with over two hundred thousand square feet of exhibition space spanning ten halls. The International Trolley and Train Museum has fourteen trains running simultaneously in mountains, wilderness and urban areas; including three waterfalls that use 12,000 gallons of water per hour.

There are plenty of resorts to chose from and a good place to check them out is the Trip Advisor website where you will find plenty of unbiased reviews, including the ‘candid’ travellers photos as opposed to the often unrecognizable official hotel ones. One brand new resort which is becoming popular is the Caribe Cove Resort in Kissimmee. Caribe Cove Resort is a platinum rated resort in a quiet location, yet close enough to the action, with enormous condos and first class decor and furnishings. It is surrounded by lush wetlands yet still only minutes from Disney and provides a real oasis to return to after a frenetic day at the parks and attractions of Orlando. There’s no need for ‘candid’ photos at this resort as what you see is really what you get!

January 14, 2009 by ama57 · Leave a Comment

Florida is one of the most popular North American destinations for Brits abroad.  This is because of the high temperatures, it’s proximety on the America East Coast and the extensive amount of visitor attractions.  Although most commonly associated with family vacations, Florida has a plethora of activities that are suitable for adults.  Below we have outlined some of the major locations that you can take a Florida Holiday.

Gulf Coast

One of the most popular areas for those seeking a Florida Holiday, the Gulf Coast offers sizzling temperatures that peak to over 34 degrees centrigrade as well as miles of glorious white sandy beaches.  Some of the popular areas include Tampa Bay, Treasure Island, St.Petersburgh and Naples

Orlando

The state capital and epicentre of Florida Holiday attractions.  Located inland, Orlando is home to some of the most famous attractions in the US including Walt Disney World, Seaworld, Universal Studios and the Magic Kingdom.  No trip to Florida would be complete without a trip to at least one of these iconic attractions. Even if you’re not planning staying in Orlando for the duration of your trip, consider a taking Florida twin centre holiday, staying in one of the many popular hotels in Orlando for a night or two while you enjoy all the area has to offer, before continuing your moving on to see more of Florida.

East Coast

Much like the Golf Coast, the East Coast has plenty of white sandy beaches to enjoy.  Some of the major attractions include Cape Kennedy, Miami and Daytona Beaches.  Miami beach is famous for hosting a number of events including the Winter Music Dance festival.  Daytona beach stretches over 17 miles and hosts the world famous Daytona 500 race in February of each year.

The Cheapest way to Holiday in Florida

Getting the best a package holiday deal may not seem as straightforward as you might think.  Although it is highly convenient just to search on the internet for a “Florida package deals” for example and then pick one from a provider or broker, you may not be getting the most suitable holiday or at the lowest possible price.

Often instead of opting for a “pre packaged” holiday where the elements of the trip are decided by the vendor, it can be much better to pick and match the different elements yourself.   For example your holiday could be made up of a flight, hotel, transfers and tickets for visitor attractions.  Not only can it be beneficial to choose these items yourself, it could also work out cheaper.  Some operators may even mark up certain items or not give you the best price possible.  So instead of searching for a package deal as a whole, try searching for “Cheap Florida Villas” and book your accommodation separately.

You should also consider which elements of your holiday are most important to you and how much of your budget you which to apportion to them.  A night flight from the UK might be the default offering from a package holiday operator, but may not suit all travellers as (a) they have to travel a long way to the airport or (b) they have young children for example.  In this respect you may want to pay a bit more for a flight that departs during the day.  Equally you could be content with a night flight but rather pay a bit more for a nicer hotel.

An additional reason why a DIY package holiday could benefit you is if you plan to go away for another other length of time than the standard 7,10 or 14 days as this is what pre package holidays tend to cater for.

When you book the individual elements you also have more leverage in bargaining the price down.  A package holiday when bought as one will almost always have set fees within it that have been agreed by the operator between and the other parties such as the airlines and hotel owners.  If you book these yourself you can negotiate a lower rate for each part of your holiday.  And don’t be afraid to haggle, the travel industry is in dire need of new passengers due to global economic slowdown and rocketing air fuel prices.  There are plenty of “Cheap Florida Holidays” to be had!
